Well, we've witnessed the beginning of the pretty much the biggest capitulation the sporting world has ever seen but for most candid observers, the one moment that will stick in the mind forever was when Lance Armstrong admitted to Oprah Winfrey that he did use banned substances in his 7 Tour de France wins.
But if you do ever watch the whole interview - and I would strongly urge you to - it does manage to deal with plenty of issues that have surrounded this sad, sad saga even if Lance didn't actually directly answer some of Oprah's questions, i.e. regarding Betsy Andreu, his former teammate, Frankie Andreu's wife, who Lance spent the best part of a decade calling a bitch and crazy woman after Betsy claimed she had seen Lance admit what drugs he took while on an IV drip when he was undergoing treatment for his cancer.
Betsy actually appeared on CNN's Anderson Cooper shortly after Lance's interview aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network - yes that is a real network - in the USA.
And then there was the masseuse, Emma O'Reilly.
And then there was disgraced teammate, Floyd Landis who admitted in what seemed an apparent show of sour grapes, that Lance Armstrong took drugs in 2010.
And then there was Tyler Hamilton...
Ah but the coup de grace.. this was an interview Armstrong did under oath in 2005.
Perjury, liar, jail, bastard... feel free to write your list of adjectives and nouns to describe Armstrong at this point.
