Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl Champions! #SBXLVIII

It has taken them 38 years to do it, but after being for so long, one of the NFL's ugly duckling expansion teams, the Seattle Seahawks can call themselves World Champions after winning the 48th Super Bowl in cold New York.

The game was not a contest right from the kick off with the Hawks forcing a safety from the Broncos within 10 seconds of the game. From there on, the Hawks secondary and offense were too hot for the previous number 1 Broncos to handle as they marched to a 29-0 half-time lead before Bruno Mars took over the entertainment.

Unlike previous seasons which had seen the likes of the New Orleans Saints, New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers mount heroic second half comebacks, there was not to be for the Broncos especially after a remarkable kickoff return by Percy Harvin right after Bruno Mars and his motley crew walked off.

In the end, the Broncos got their second walloping in a Super Bowl in history, losing 43-8 to another NFC West team - the last walloping they got was at the hands of Joe Montana's San Francisco 49ers.

For Peyton Manning, it almost seems certain that he will end his career with only one Super Bowl ring from back in 2006 with the Colts while his less illustrious and talented brother will finish with two.

Congratulations to the Seahawks, their 12th man, and the city of Seattle. For once, it won't be the lattes, Frasier and the Space Needle that the city will be famous for.

MVP - Percy Harvin - back from concussion but back with a bang!
