All Blacks 2014 Domestic Schedule Announced!
The All Blacks have announced their schedule for the 2014 international season at home.
All Blacks fans can look forward to 3 tests against England and the Rugby Championship - and the prospect of the ABs breaking the world record for the longest winning streak in test rugby - currently standing at 20.
Christchurch won't get a chance to see any of that happening though although they do have the consolation of having the Crusaders hosting England on June 17.
Perhaps, the grace period that the NZRU gave to Christchurch following the devastating February 2011 earthquake has ended and this is a bit of a quiet nudge to the city to get a proper world class stadium built soon - while the stadium in Addington is great for watching rugby, it lacks the capacity and facilities of many other grounds in New Zealand and with so many good stadia in other centres, the NZRU really had to get the hard word in.
(Now you know how we in Dunedin felt in 2006 :-) )
The schedule is as follows -
June 7 - 1st Test, England, Auckland
June 14 - 2nd Test, England, Dunedin
June 21 - 3rd Test, England, Hamilton
Rugby Championship
Aug 16 - Australia, Sydney (Bledisloe Cup)
Aug 23 - Australia, Auckland (Bledisloe Cup)
Sept 6 - Argentina, Napier
Sept 13 - South Africa, Wellington
Sept 27 - v Argentina, TBC
Oct 4 - v South Africa, Johannesburg
Extra Bledisloe Cup test
Oct 18 - v Australia, Brisbane
