Who Will Be the First All Black Bolter for 2014?

The first All Blacks test of 2014 is a month away now and the selectors will be out looking for their first All Black bolter/bolters for the first test series against England.

Here are my 3 candidates to be the next All Blacks bolter.

1. Malakai Fekitoa - the Highlanders centre has been in top form since his move from the Blues late last year and has been showing former coach John Kirwan what he's missing right now. He has been key in the revival of the franchise from the Deep South and considering the talent and form of the options at centre at Steve Hansen's disposal currently as well as the current ethos of developing the next generation of players, the odds on Fekitoa being the latest All Black are getting slimmer.

2. Liam Coltman - hooker is a position the All Blacks are currently a bit short on particularly since the retirement of Andrew Hore and selectors will be keen to blood new talent given Keven Mealamu's dodgy calves. Highlanders hooker, Liam Coltman, has continued his form from last season and should be frontrunner to be third choice hooker behind in-form Dane Coles and Mealamu.

3. TJ Perenara - not a traditional bolter in the sense, but technically still a player without a cap after he failed to come off the bench as the Irish proved much tougher opposition for the All Blacks than initially thought. Barring injury, Perenara should get his chance off the bench against England given his form for the Hurricanes this season - it would be a richly deserved if belated first cap.
