Next Stop for Tebow Time?

So with Peyton Manning joining the Denver Broncos, it is clear that the organization's brief flirtation with Tim Tebow is over. The former Florida Gators star and Heisman Trophy winner will have to be traded in order to fit Manning's massive salary under their salary cap.

Whether that investment pays off, we shall see. But with the Tebowtime experiment over in the Rockies, where to next for one of American sport's great enigmas?

Firstly, you can count out the NFC as Tebow just doesn't have the throwing arm to match the many many elite quarterbacks in that conference. It would be foolish and just plain stupid for Tebow to see his reputation shredded to pieces by the likes of Rodgers, Brees and Manning Jr.

So it'll have to be an AFC team and there are 3 candidates:
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins get in simply because they're looking for a new quarterback and simply because Tim Tebow is a Florida boy and could get the crowds back to Dolphins Stadium. However, they do have a new coach in Mike Philbin who has no idea how Tebow plays so this would be a huge risk for Tebow and I dare say could be a big flop.

UPDATE: Yes the Dolphins are probably off the table now. They have signed former Jaguars quarterback, David Garrard to a one-year deal. With Matt Moore already there and likely to stay, Tebowtime probably won't be coming to South Florida.

New England Patriots
The Patriots are surprisingly one of the favourites to pick up Tebow in the trade. They've picked up offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels from the Broncos, who worked with Tebow during their incredible unbeaten run last season. Brandon Lloyd has also moved to the Patriots meaning Tebow has got familiar tools to work with at Foxborough should he move. He could be the hybrid running back/wildcat QB and help support Danny Woodhead and BenJarvus Green-Ellis in the running game but can the Patriots actually fit Tebow under the salary cap and would Tebow want to play second fiddle to Tom Brady, the same quarterback who beat him twice last season and is well, Tom Brady?

Jacksonville Jaguars
When the 2010 draft was made, popular opinion suggested that the Jaguars would trade up to get Tim Tebow, the boy returning to his hometown team. They didn't but unbelievably the Jags might still very well get their man. Quarterbacking was a major problem last season and Blaine Gabbert still hasn't proven he is good enough for the NFL. Furthermore, the Jaguars have always been a franchise under threat of relocation and the low crowds haven't helped in recent times. Picking Tebow would certainly lift the franchise to the next level just like Peyton Manning did at the Colts, turning the Jags from expansion also-rans to a respectable football team.
