Omega Quickstep's Matteo Trentin overcame a brave effort from Sojasun's Julien Simon to win Stage 14 of the Tour de France today in Lyon ahead of Orica's Michael Albasini and Jack Bauer's American teammate, Andrew Talansky.
There were no dramas today as the general classification contenders took it easy on the eve of the big climb up the Ventoux on Bastille Day. Chris Froome maintains his yellow jersey going into what will be an important day on this year's Tour - and his Sky teammates managed to finish with him today after the debacle yesterday.

Jack Bauer consolidated his placing as top Kiwi in this year's Tour de France with another finish in the yellow jersey group - he remains 146th, 1hour 51 minutes and 34 seconds behind Chris Froome.
Tomorrow, the riders take on the legendary Ventoux with its bare hill and famous tower. This will be a cracker. Stay tuned for more updates.
