Chris Froome delivered a big punch to Alberto Contador in today's scenic individual time trial, snatching the stage win from the Spanish duo of Contador and Joaquim Rodriguez by 9 seconds at the death; Froome had been 11 seconds behind Contador at the top of the climb.
Jack Bauer clocked a time of 56'40" earlier in the day - just over 5 minutes off Froome's time to consolidate a highly respectable debut TdF so far. He is 146th, 9 minutes now ahead of compatriot Greg Henderson and the likes of Sky's Ian Stannard & limping Geraint Thomas.
It's Alpe d'Huez tomorrow - look out for the fireworks as Contador now 2nd looks to claw back the 4 minutes to a seemingly unstoppable Chris Froome.
