Jamie Mackintosh Set for Chiefs
Born and bred Southlander, Jamie Mackintosh, looks set to move to the Chiefs for next season after a season on the sidelines for the Highlanders. The former captain will join his Southland team-mate Robbie Robinson at the Dave Rennie coached table toppers if the move comes to pass and has probably been long in the making since the signing of All Black prop, Tony Woodcock by the Southerners.
Mackintosh has somewhat failed to live up to his promise of earlier years when he was considered not just a future All Black, but future All Black captain. Perhaps, Dave Rennie can finally coach the best out of the former Southland Boys captain.
Meanwhile, Israel Dagg and Tom Marshall could move to the Chiefs next season, as the New Zealand conference leaders look set to build.
It is also worth considering that Ma'a Nonu is also off contract at the Highlanders - the Chiefs and Crusaders are the only other teams Nonu hasn't played for in New Zealand, so would Dave Rennie and Todd Blackadder be brave enough for a punt on the mercurial All Black?
Who do you think will be the next big move in Super Rugby in New Zealand? Your thoughts please.
