Wellington's mayor has advised that structural engineers have pretty much cleared Westpac Stadium to host the 2nd Bledisloe Cup test on Saturday week.
No problems had been reported in the initial check and the mayor expected the official go-ahead to come soon.
The stadium was shut for the weekend - sorry screaming teenagers who love paint - following the big quake in Seddon on Friday afternoon that was felt as far as Wellington and forced commuters to evacuate the city in mass - cue the biggest peak-hour traffic rush home ever seen in Wellington.
Last time Wellington hosted the Aussies was in 2009 |
Let's just hope there's no big one closer to Saturday - not just for the people of Seddon and Ward but also for the rugby.
