Go Otago Volts!
Forget the sailing, New Zealand sport is pretty much riding a huge pipeline with the All Blacks and even the cricketers doing well overseas!
Yes, the Otago Volts are doing New Zealand cricket proud at cricket's version of the financially lucrative UEFA Champions League - shame there's no hymn like football's tournament.
They thrashed the Perth Scorchers and then beat the Highveld Lions from South Africa in a thrilling super over in extra time meaning they're now 2nd on the table behind the Rajasthan Royals who they play in their final game of the round robin.
Beat the Royals, and the Otago Volts will be in a good position for the semis - they should still make the semis even with a loss as they're 4 points clear of the Mumbai Indians who play the Perth Scorchers in the last game.
Jimmy Neesham, Ian Butler and the McCullums as ever have been the standouts in India, as the Volts try and provide New Zealand's best ever performance at the annual tournament - no New Zealand side has made the semis and a performance like this could mean that New Zealand sides don't need to participate in the qualifying tournament before the round robin in the future.
Go Volts!
