Bauer Watch: TdF Day 12

EDIT: Sorry had to revise this article after Jack's mum advised me that Jack was right in it. I must apologize as I only got to view the footage this morning once and it was quite chaotic - I was also focusing on Edvald Boasson Hagen as I heard he had fractured his shoulder in the crash on the news.

Sorry, Jack's mum!

A massive crash towards the end of today's Tour de France stage has overshadowed Marcel Kittel's brilliant last-gasp win over Mark Cavendish at the line. The crash also involved Jack Bauer and Greg Henderson who thought he had fractured his elbow. Bauer suffered damage to his helmet and body but not as bad as Sky's Edvald Boasson Hagen who fractured his shoulder and is out of the Tour de France.

Kittel's 2nd stage win this year came through a magical and surprise push at the death just as Cavendish looked set for what would have been his 2nd stage win in this year's TdF.

Chris Froome retains yellow after finishing in the lead pack but his team has taken a further blow with Edvald Boasson Hagen's injury . If Froome wins this year's TdF, it  would require a massive individual effort now with Team Sky two riders down.

Jack Bauer finished 179th nearly 5 minutes behind Kittel, but moves up to 161st in the overall standings.

EDIT: Here's an interview of him after the race -

Let's hope Day 13 is not as calamitous as today! Best wishes to Edvald and all riders involved in that crash by the way!
