It's been another cracking weekend of Super Rugby action with the Chiefs, the current double champions, proving to be the comeback and draw specialists, having to come from 34-10 to behind at half-time to draw 43-43 with the last pass of the game.
Two draws in two games against South African opposition in the Republic is a pretty good result - especially with two additional bonus points gained for scoring 4 tries each time, meaning a healthy 6 points for their troubles. Not a bad return really considering that it was only several hours later that an Australian or New Zealand side first tasted victory in the notoriously tough Republic.
Speaking of surprises, the Western Force have definitely been the surprise package of the 2014 Super Rugby season so far - they have won 4 games in a row for the first time in their history and sit 3rd in a tight Australian conference only 3 points behind the Brumbies who are 2nd overall in the competition but have played a game more than the Perth based side.
They've got their tour of South Africa to come which will be the ultimate litmus test of their season but Force fans should be very happy with the progress their little fancied side of no stars has made this season.
Indeed, it is a big fillip for New Zealand rugby as the likes of former Highlander Jayden Hayward and former Hurricane Alby Matthewson have been key in the Force's surprise upturn of fortune this season and after a confidence boosting win against former champions, the Reds in Brisbane to back up a huge win over the Chiefs earlier last month, Western Australian rugby fans have plenty to look forward to this season. And hopefully with a bit of luck, the Force could sneak a playoff spot in one of the most competitive seasons for Australian Super Rugby for some time.
Here are all the highlights from all the Super Rugby games this weekend.
