Most Excruciating New Zealand Wins

The prolonged wait for confirmation of Team New Zealand's America's Cup win has brought back memories of some of our most excruciating wins.

Here's a look back at some of them
1996 All Blacks win first ever tour in South Africa.

It took nearly a century - it felt like more - but the ABs finally won a test series in South Africa. The decider itself made for enthralling but painful watching with the ABs staving off late Bok pressure in the last minutes of the game in Pretoria to win 33-26. That was painful!

2011 Rugby World Cup Final

Only labour pains are more excruciating than this. The most stressful 40 minutes of rugby you will ever watch. It was thrilling but hard to watch. But we won and ended 24 years of frustration. That was painful!

2011 New Zealand beat Australia, Hobart

The finish that took ages to come and came down to the last 7 runs as Australia seemed keen to deny their neighbours a much needed test win. In the end, the wait was worth it - a test win in Australia, New Zealand's first against them on their own turf in 26 years.

Other excruciating yet exciting finishes - not New Zealand wins though.
