- Barcelona become first team to win back to back European Cups
- Southampton, West Ham and Middlesbrough win promotion to the Premier League
- Germany win EURO 2014
- Miami Heat to win NBA title
- Chicago Blackhawks win Stanley Cup
- Rory McIlroy becomes world no. 1, wins Masters
- Roger Federer wins his last career Grand Slam at Wimbledon but Novak Djokovic is no. 1 in the world
- Crusaders win the Super rugby title
- The Reds will struggle to make the playoffs without Quade Cooper
- China finishes top of 2012 London Olympics ahead of the USA and Great Britain
- New Zealand wins Olympic gold in the rowing, cycling & discus throw (male & female)
- All Blacks win Rugby Championship
- Argentina finish last in Rugby Championship
