EURO 2012 Draw

Well the draw for next year's big football tournament has been made.. And it is as follows:

Group A: Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic.

Group B: Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Portugal.

Group C: Spain, Italy, Republic of Ireland, Croatia.

Group D: Ukraine, Sweden, France, England.

Netherlands v Germany, EURO 2004  

England will probably be happy with that draw even if they do have to play Sweden who they always struggle against - a bit like the ABs in South Africa. Don't know why - must be the blondes.

Ireland maybe not so as they have to take on the reigning world champions and the last world champions. Having said that, they do have a good record against Italy and do have an Italian manager at the helm.

The toughest group is Group B on paper although you have to say that Portugal and Denmark aren't the sides they once were and the Dutch and Germans are quite strong at the moment and are even favourites to make the Final.

The easiest group on the other hand appears to be Group A - Poland will be very happy with that and do have a good chance of getting through to the quarterfinals.

So here's to an exciting tournament next year!
