5 Great "Was It A Goal?" Refereeing Blunders

Well even a blind man could see that Chelsea's 2nd goal against Tottenham in their FA Cup semifinal on Sunday wasn't a legitimate goal. (Watch the video below from 2:39)

But there have been quite a few absolute shockers adjudicating on goals in the last couple of seasons, with calls for goal-line technology growing ever louder but falling on ever more deaf ears as goals are either given even though they didn't cross the line, or not given even though they clearly crossed the line.

By the way, just to clarify for those who don't know, a goal in the game officially called association football can only be given when the ball has crossed the goal line in its entirety.

Here are 5 of the worst blunders made by refs on goals (or "goals") in recent times.

England v West Germany, 1966 World Cup Final
HMMMM... Hard to tell from the footage but the more I see it, the more I think it's not a goal..

Duisburg v Frankfurt, 2008
CLEARLY NOT A GOAL!

Watford v Reading, 2009
CLEARLY NOT A GOAL!

England v Germany, 2010

CLEARLY A GOAL!

And the worst of them all IMO...

Manchester United v Tottenham, 2005
CLEARLY A GOAL!
