Alternate All Blacks XV for June Internationals

Imagine if you weren't able to pick the likes of Dan Carter, Richie McCaw, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Tony Woodcock, Keven Mealamu or any of last year's Rugby World Cup winning squad for June's internationals. What would the All Blacks look like?

Perhaps the picture isn't quite frightening - for All Blacks fans - with plenty of young stars who have impressed in this year's Super Rugby.

9.Aaron Smith, Highlanders
10.Beauden Barrett, Hurricanes
11.Julian Savea, Hurricanes

  1. It shows what great depth we have doesn't it?

What about Wyatt Crockett was he at the RWC? Otherwise I think Charlie Faumuina needs to be in there somewhere.

Shields doesn't get heaps of gametime for the Hurricanes, what about Nasi Manu? Although Shields should get more gametime, is he injured?

Sam Cane doesn't even start for the Chiefs these days.

Surely Tawera Kerr Barlow should be on the bench instead of Perenara.

Charlie Ngatai hardly plays for the Hurricanes. I rate Maitland, Treeby or even Ranger ahead of him.

  2. Bob Dwyer did the same thing with the Wallabies this year on Green and Gold Rugby. I think the teams that people came up with show just how much more depth NZ has than Australia.
