The NRL is only days away. Here are three players to look out for this season!
Sam Tomkins, Warriors
The former Wigan fullback has already shone for the Warriors in the Auckland Nines and against the Broncos in pre-season. The key will be for him to stay fit and healthy as the season wears on - as well as for him to adapt to defenses as they tighten up over the winter months. However, his combo with Johnson could be electric.
Jamal Idris, Panthers
Idris is back in Sydney after a brief, unfulfilling stint with the Gold Coast Titans although this time he is back with the Panthers who are looking to emerge from mediocrity and finally break into the playoffs for the first time under coach Ivan Cleary. There are big expectations that Idris could repeat his form with the Bulldogs from a couple of seasons ago and get another club from Sydney's west into the Finals.
Luke Brooks, Wests Tigers
The post-Benji Marshall era has begun and Luke Brooks will be key to the Wests Tigers success this season now that the Kiwi pivot is playing rugby union for the Blues. Brooks has huge plaudits from everyone but is still a couple of years away from his best - however, Benji Marshall got the Wests Tigers to NRL Premiership glory in his early years and given the amount of talent coming from Balmain and Campbelltown, it is time for Tigers fans to look towards the future after several disruptive seasons.
