Rivaldo Retires!

A real legend of the game has retired at the age of 42.

Rivaldo Vitor Borba Ferreira - known by most as Rivaldo - has been playing for the last couple of months for Brazilian club side, Mogi Mirim, where his son, Rivaldinho is currently playing. He happens to be chairman of the club too - a role he will be

However, Rivaldo became a real legend of the game thanks to his heroic exploits with Barcelona and AC Milan. After AC Milan, Rivaldo began to wind down his career, moving to Greek champions, Olympiakos firstly before playing with several clubs in Greece, Turkey and Brazil.

And of course, who could forget his form for Brazil particularly partnered with Ronaldo? Other than a controversial moment in the 2002 World Cup where he play-acted to get a Turkey player sent off, Rivaldo's Brazil career was quite stunning and his form was brilliant in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups.

A great player with freakish skill, Rivaldo's trickery and goals will never be forgotten.

Hopefully, Rivaldinho will be good enough to make it into the big time eventually!
