Thanks Brian O'Driscoll!

Brian O'Driscoll has played his last game for the emerald green on home soil. O'Driscoll featured for Ireland as they thrashed Italy 46-7 to keep their Six Nations championship hopes alive.

O'Driscoll's glittering 15 year career will come to a close later this season when he finishes the campaign for Leinster. It has been quite a pleasure following Ireland's greatest rugby player as his skills and playmaking abilities helped guide the Irish to Grand Slam glory in 2009 as well as Leinster to Heineken Cup success early this century. Sure, there have been controversial moments during his career, including his reaction to the spear tackle on him during the British & Irish Lions tour in New Zealand in 2005 - but then again, controversy is never far away from the truly great rugby players.

No doubt, that BOD will bow a true legend and great of the world game. Hopefully, he can guide Ireland to an unlikely championship success in a week's time - depending on results elsewhere of course.

Here is a look back at O'Driscoll's career in green - and red -
