Andrew Hore Set to Retire from Rugby!

All Blacks veteran hooker, Andrew Hore is set to announce his retirement from all rugby.

Andrew Hore who is without a Super Rugby contract for next season after the Highlandeers declined to renew his contract, will take his bow out of all rugby following Saturday night's All Blacks test at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Hore, who turned 35 last month, has played in 81 tests for the ABs, making his debut in black in 2002.

Hore captained the Hurricanes for 6 seasons
Unable to dislodge Tom Willis and Anton Oliver at Otago, Hore moved to Taranaki in 2001 to get game time and eventually became one of the Hurricanes' most important players, assuming the captaincy from Tana Umaga following his retirement in 2005.

A fallout with new coach, Mark Hammett in 2011, meant Hore returned to his province of birth to play for the Highlanders in 2012, where he has been a major success.

Andrew Hore has been an ever-present in New Zealand rugby since 2004 with his scrummaging and tackling abilities as well as work ethic prized by all his coaches. He has had his controversial moments on and off the field - including a court appearance for illegally shooting seals - but has generally been a positive influence in the black - and yellow and blue and gold jerseys.

However, he has been used sparingly in 2013 with coaches preferring to use the rapidly improving and promising Dane Coles.

Hore should be replaced by another Otago hardman, Liam Coltman who has been very impressive for the Highlanders and Otago this season and has featured in national wider group training camps.

Cheers Hore. Enjoy the farm on the Maniototo and try and not shoot anymore seals on the Otago Peninsula!
