Sonny Bill Williams Signs with New Zealand Rugby for 3 Years!

Genuine and fairly reliable sources from Sydney have advised that Sonny Bill Williams has signed a 3 year contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union starting from 2014.

The worst kept secret in New Zealand rugby will be let out of the bag within the next few weeks with the NRL Grand Final winner set to return to Hamilton to play for the Chiefs in Super Rugby next season after the completion of the Rugby League World Cup in November.

The 3 year deal also means that Sonny Bill Williams will be available for consideration for the All Blacks for the 2015 Rugby World Cup as well as the New Zealand Sevens team for the 2016 Olympics.

Even if the deal isn't a surprise, it is still a big coup for New Zealand rugby who now have signed two of rugby league's biggest stars - Benji Marshall being the other big league star who could play for the All Blacks if he caught the eye of the selectors and coaches.

Could we see this association in 2014?
In other news, Ma'a Nonu could be on his way to the Blues - Steve Hansen earlier spoke to Tony Veitch on Radio Live and hinted that John Kirwan could be getting Ma'a Nonu back a year after he left the Auckland based franchise on acrimonious terms to play for the Highlanders.

It would be a huge boost for the ABs to keep their starting second five in New Zealand rugby should the Blues take up the challenge of having a player who has been considered a bit of a bad influence at his former teams.
