Denver Broncos Beat Dallas Cowboys In the Greatest NFL Game Ever?

We may very well have witnessed the greatest NFL regular season game ever on Sunday.

The fabled Dallas Cowboys (2-2) at home in their ultra-modern and massive AT&T Stadium hosted the unbeaten Denver Broncos (4-0) with Peyton Manning in the primetime NFL nationally televised game on CBS.

And it didn't disappoint.

This was one for the ages and it had everything - whether its the fantasy football stats or just the on-field action for the proper football fans. 99 points in any NFL game is as rare as a blue moon and talks about lots of touchdowns and great offense.

But there were plenty of great plays by the defence in this game too - to be expected from John Fox's Broncos and the Cowboys at home. It was just that the offence was absolutely irresistible.

Testament to that? Look at the stats here (more here - http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=331006006)

Peyton Manning 33-42, 414 yards, 4 touchdowns, 1 intercept, 1 rushing TD.

Tony Romo 25-36, 506 yards, 5 touchdowns, 1 intercept.

Romo actually got more yards than Manning who passed Dan Marino's passing yards record in this game. He had as many intercepts as Manning - just his intercept came at the wrong time when Dallas looked like they might steal the game and end Denver's unbeaten run.

After all, they had come from 35-20 behind to lead 41-38 in the 4th quarter. This could have been a comeback for the ages just as another American billionaire who sails boats in San Francisco - Oracle's Larry Ellison - would know.

Alas, that intercept gave the Broncos a second live and they duly kicked the field goal to win the game 51-48.

Was this the greatest NFL regular season game ever? We love the NFL because of games that are half as good as this - this must top the lot surely.
