The Highlanders have been making some big signings in the last week. The latest and probably one of the better signings in my opinion, has been of Tasman's loose forward, Shane Christie.
Christie has been one of the form players in this season's ITM Cup and has been one of the reasons why Tasman have been the surprise pace-setters in the Championship this season.
Christie was part of the Crusaders last season but with Kieran Read, the Whitelock brothers, Richie McCaw and Matt Todd already there, Christie was always going to find it hard to get game time there so a move to the Highlanders is a good one for him career wise as he should feature prominently - particularly as blindside was such a problem last season.
Christie along with Gareth Evans will hope to turn around things for the Highlanders in that area after the loss of Adam Thomson somewhat hampered their efforts last season.
