The Red Sox have drawn first blood in the World Series with a tremendous batting display at Fenway Park thanks to Mike Napoli and David Ortiz. The Boston side outscored their rivals from the Midwest 8-1 to take a 1-0 series lead.
It is the Red Sox's 9th consecutive win in the World Series since 2004 - they clean-swept the Cardinals and Rockies in the previous series.
The second game is tomorrow night.
